Possible Complications

Discharge and Minor Bleeding
A dark discharge and mild bleeding may occur in the donor area up to 3 days after the operation.
Pimples
Pimples may appear in the implanted area due to the obstruction in the sebaceous gland canals caused by the hair transplant procedure. It is seen in some patients. This does not mean that there are issues with the hair transplantation process though. If feeling uncomfortable, the pimple may be popped in a delicate and careful manner so that no harm is done to the hair follicle.
Itchiness and Redness on the Implanted Area
It is perfectly normal to experience itching and redness on the implanted area after a hair transplant procedure. However, the itching will cease by the third day after the operation.
Shedding of Transplanted Hair Grafts
Most of the implanted hair is shed within the first month. This is completely natural, in fact it is an integral part of the hair transplantation process. After the shedding occurs, the new hair will begin to grow naturally.

Results

After a hair transplant procedure, the hair from the implanted grafts is mostly shed within the first month. This shedding is completely normal and there is nothing to worry about. On average, healthy new hair begins to grow and replace the shed hair by the third month. On average, by the sixth month, the new hair growth reaches 60-70% of the implanted follicles. The hairless area gets smaller with time and the real final result of the hair transplant is seen after twelve months. By this time, all hair follicles will be producing hair that will gradually strengthen and thicken.
